佘曉清教授為本校終身講座教授兼師資培育中心主任、教育所所長,其研究領域主要涵蓋科學教育、數位學習與神經科學。目前進行中的研究包括科學概念改變、概念改變與科學推理、科學論證與概念改變、科學心智模式建構、認知多媒體科學學習與數位學習等,其中尖端研究趨向之一為結合科學教育與神經科學,利用EEG與眼動儀探討學習者在科學學習、科學與數學問題解決、科學概念建構之工作記憶任務與科學決策等歷程中的大腦動態變化與眼動行為。

佘教授曾任國科會科學教育發展處科學教學學門召集人、教育部九年一貫自然科課程諮詢委員、教育部高中生物科課程綱要專案小組委員,同時目前主持為期四年的2015 PISA國際學生能力素養研究計畫,並擔任我國参與OECD 2015 PISA以科學為主的國際評比的National Project Manger 與執行推動計畫,進行國內施測作業與推廣工作。其並積極參與國內外科學教育組織,曾任 National Association in Science Teaching的JRST award committee的chair,和EASE East Asian for Science Education 的Executive members,曾任中華民國科學教育學會的副理事長及理事長。

佘教授長期致力於促進中學學生的科學概念改變與學習研究和數位化多媒體整合科學學習研究。其所進行一系列概念改變研究成果在世界科教界佔有重要的地位,並陸續發表在科學教育重要期刊上。近年來為突破科學學習研究的瓶頸,更開創科學教育與認知神經科學的跨領域之整合研究。佘教授所榮獲之學術獎勵包括三次行政院國家科學委員會傑出研究獎(92年度、98年度、101年度)、傅爾布萊2011特訪問學者計畫、105年度科技部特約研究員。
